— The Breath
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention — on purpose, in the present moment, without judgement. It sounds deceptively simple. And yet, for most of us, the present moment is the place we spend the least time. Mindfulness practice is an invitation to come home.
What mindfulness offers
At its heart, mindfulness offers a different relationship with experience — one in which we are no longer at the mercy of every thought or emotion, but can observe them with a little more space and equanimity.
Extensive research supports its effectiveness in reducing anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and stress-related illness. More than this, many people report a deepening of presence, joy, and connection in their everyday lives.
My approach to mindfulness teaching is warm and pragmatic. We start from where you are — not from some idealised state of perfect stillness. All experience is valid material for practice.
Sessions can be offered individually as part of a therapeutic programme, or as standalone mindfulness instruction for those wanting to develop or deepen a personal practice.
